New fun on Fridays
I experienced a first Friday in my 30-plus years of high school football coverage.
When I first started walking the sidelines with a camera and notepad, just out of high school, I never anticipated some day “tweeting,” too.
I had enough trouble learning how to take photos and take notes at the same time.

This is not my story. It’s my youngest brother’s story. And you have to promise not to tell him that I put this story in the paper. He might kill me for it.
But it’s so funny. And it’s so not typical of my brother.
Make quiet time a part of your life
Are you poised, seriously, at the point of running away from home?
Is everything overwhelming you? You feel like you are a week behind on the things you can understand and control, and you don’t really comprehend the rest? So many projects at work, so many problems at home, so many things you’ve agreed to do for friends, family, community, church, work. Too many!
Letters to the Editor
I read with interest the comments made by Mr. Burleson regarding the litter alongside of the roads in this area. I too have seen this litter. I am a newly planted resident of Red Banks. I was born here, but moved away after college. I have now returned after 35 years of being away. I found out immediately how different things are here in this area as opposed to where I have lived before. First off, we were not allowed to place our moving boxes with our trash. Nor would there be special services running to pick up boxes later when needed. Our old mattresses and box springs would not be taken with the trash. We have one large garbage can and that is it.
