School districts push tuition plan

The Marshall County Board of Supervisors heard a plea from the Holly Springs and Marshall County school districts Monday to find some way to participate in the Create Foundation’s tuition guarantee program.
Childers named state Veterinarian of Year
Dr. David Childers has been named Veterinarian of the Year 2010 by the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, in a surprise announcement at the annual conference on the Mississippi State University campus.

James Meredith, a Civil Rights leader from Kosciusko and the first African American student to attend the University Of Mississippi, wants the state of Mississippi to reconsider the busing of children to school.
Byhalia police respond to 30 calls
The Byhalia Police Department responded to 30 calls during the past week.
Chief Gary Looney released the following report – alarm calls, 2; motor vehicle accidents, 1; disturbances, 1; thefts, 1; escorts, 4; assists, 1; medical assistance, 11; fires, 2; miscellaneous calls, 7.
Byhalia police officers also made eight arrests during the past week.
